Serves me right for being smug, we called in today for a quick drink while out on a walk on the first sunny day for weeks. I was quite late for lunch so we decided to eat there as well. We ordered a Mixed Salad and a "Calamar a la Plancha". Now I need to say that we eat Calamar a la Plancha several times a month in an assortment of bars and restaurants up and down the coast and therefor know what to expect and what the price range is, so we never enquired about the price before ordering. The one we got was HUGE, enough for a family of four or more, and we were just 2. I can only presume that they had this Jumbo version left over from the weekend and decided that we were likely looking targets to sell it to. It was too much to eat and certainly too mich to pay - 21 euros for the Calamar alone. for reference we normally expect to pay somewhere between 7 euros and 14 euros (maximum) depending on size of the fish and location. So I am afraid that although everything else is as you would expect BEWARE OF PRICES MAKE SURE THAT YOU KNOW WHAT EVERYTHING IS GOING TO COST BEFORE YOU COMMIT.'' |
